The service

A rebase replaces the entire acrylic base of a denture while keeping its teeth, the right call when the base has weakened, broken or simply aged while the teeth remain in good condition. The new base is custom-fitted, so the rebuilt denture sits snugly and securely, clearing up the sore spots and looseness the old base caused. Rebasing is also how an immediate denture graduates to a permanent one at the end of healing.
Repairs handle the accidents: a cracked plate, a chipped or lost denture tooth, damage from a drop or a hard bite. We restore a fractured denture close to its original condition, often on a same-day basis, and Dr. Danoukh will tell you plainly what condition the denture is in and how to keep it from breaking again. Whatever you do, do not glue it at home.

What is the difference between a rebase and a reline?
A reline resurfaces the inner surface of the existing base to fit your gums better. A rebase replaces the entire base with new material while keeping the denture teeth.
How long do repairs take?
Many repairs are done within hours; more involved ones take a day or two. A rebase usually needs at least a day, since the denture goes to the lab.
Can I repair my denture myself?
No. Household glues and materials damage the acrylic and throw off the fit, which is how mouth sores start. Bring it in; same-day repair is often possible.
