Dentistry is micro-surgery. Our practice uses high-power microscopes, similar to the one an ophthalmologist uses, to enhance the precision of patient care: they let us create dental restorations with an incredibly precise fit and finish that you simply cannot achieve with the naked eye.

Besides allowing precise close-up work, the microscope directs a beam of light directly on the teeth, minimizing glare for you.

Dr. Danoukh chooses carefully which radiographs are taken, and when, following established guidelines. Radiographs let us see everything we cannot see with our own eyes: cavities between teeth, bone level and health, the roots and nerves of teeth, and lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as damage from trauma.

Digital X-rays are viewed on a computer monitor instead of 35mm film held up to the light, offer more precision, and result in one sixth of the radiation exposure to you. A special 5D component lets us see interproximal caries, the cavities hidden between tooth surfaces, and digital images are stored with your record and transfer quickly to specialists or insurance companies when necessary.

With laser treatment there is reduced or no bleeding, minimized swelling, no charring, and no drill noise or vibration. Postoperative sensitivity is usually limited, and recovery is typically quicker than with traditional methods: the mouth begins to heal as soon as the work is finished.

The laser's high-energy light beam acts as a sterilizer on the area it is working, reducing the risk of bacterial infection. Many patients find laser treatment comfortable enough that only a light anesthetic spray is needed, which can avoid the cost and complications that come with an injected anesthetic. Dental lasers can be used safely and effectively with both children and adults.

Our practice uses small-volume cone beam CT (computed tomography) technology: highly accurate, 3-D radiographic imaging for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of implants and endodontic disease.

It allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies.

An intraoral camera is a very small camera, in some cases just a few millimeters long, that shows clear, precise, enlarged images of your mouth, teeth and gums on screen. You see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations, which can mean a faster diagnosis with less chair time.

The images are saved in our office computer as a permanent record of treatment, and can be printed for you, other specialists, your lab or your insurance company.
